That’s not a contradiction at all. “I love following rules” means “I love having clear instructions instead of them being implied”. It doesn’t mean “I love obeying authority” or “I love conforming”.

We need a digital archive of LGBTQ+ works of art, science, and every other conceivable work we can share between each other because we are beyond the genocide warning level in most countries in the west and they're already trying to purge us from libraries.

Speaking as someone with a background in archives, stuff like this does already exist. No need to reinvent the wheel. Creating an archive and making sure it's accessible and searchable and actually preserves things for the long time (especially digital things) is actually a huge undertaking. Show some love to these already existing collections and maybe even consider contributing. There's the Digital Transgender Archive off the top of my head. I know more I just have to think.

The History Project, based in Boston, is an LGBTQ+ community archive that's existed for decades. Many of their collections are digitized.

The Lesbian Herstory Archives, based in Brooklyn, is similar.

The Digital Public Library of America covers a great many topics, but they also have LGBTQ+ stuff.

I'd also recommend searching "lgbtq+" and "libguide" in your preferred search engine. Many universities list helpful resources and databases, some of which are freely accessible.

Many public and academic libraries in the US and Canada (not sure where you're writing from) subscribe to the Gale Archives of Sexuality and Gender. If you have a library card or are a student at a given library, you can access it for free.

In general, I'd really recommend searching around to see how you can support existing museums, community archives, college and university archives, etc that specialize in LGBTQ+ history and media local to you, whether that's in your same town or regionally.

But also kind of looping back to the first post: you personally might have relevant records. Photos of Pride or protests you've been to, journals, a blog full of trans headcanons even. That's all part of queer history and that's the stuff these archives and museums are made of.

Label your stuff carefully, make backup copies, and get to know your local organizations!

I'd like to join in on the "_ fell first, _ fell harder" debate because I have been seeing many posts which argue that Merlin fell first and Arthur fell harder and... Ah ah ah ah. No. No that is not what happened.

Arthur fell the moment this twink with an attitude came to him and called his ass out. No one aside from Morgana has ever dared SASS him in his life and it made him find out some things about himself. Whereas Merlin saw an asshole and said: "What a bitch" and tried to punch him. Arthur liked that. Merlin didn't like Arthur sending him to the dungeons.

In the first episodes, Merlin is keeping him safe because of destiny, while Arthur is willing to trust him (ep. 2) save his life after a magic confession (ep. 3), and give his life (ep.4).

Arthur fell first.

By the time season five arrives Merlin is lost. He hasn't just fallen for Arthur. He has dug himself a hole so deep he can't see the bottom just that he can fall that much harder. He is quite simply obsessed with keeping Arthur safe and happy. Not for his destiny (which he has by now completely forgotten) but for Arthur.

There is no one else in his mind but his King, so much so that in the first episode of the last season he would not think twice before leaving all his knight friends to die, if it meant bringing Arthur to Camelot safe and away for Morgana. He gives up his and thousands of people's life and freedom for Arthur. This guy is completely gone for Arthur and can't think about anyone else.

On the other hand, Arthur CAN and does think about others... Gwen, his knights, and his people, even if he values Merlin "above all others".

So Arthur fell first. But Merlin fell harder.

Someone needs to write an au where Merlin is an anonymous author who writes a story about two best friends, inspired by his friendship with Arthur, just having random adventures and going trough highs and lows of their relationship while still always caring for each other and wanting to do everything in their power so that the other is safe.

The story somehow gets really popular and almost everyone says that both characters, especially the one inspired by Merlin, are gay for each other. Merlin dives in deeper and realizes „Oh fuck, I was indeed in love with my best friend, Arthur Pendragon“

So....first time posting for Six Sentence Sunday (and obviously I can't count!). I've been working on this Snowbaz story for a while and hoping to start posting chapters on AO3 soon. This is from Chapter 1: Baz POV.


“Poor old Bunce. All the romance she could have had without you dragging her off on magickal quests . . .” I smirk

“Oi!” Simon tweaks my nipple, “I didn’t make her go anywhere.”

“Ow,” I laugh, nestling into him. “Bunce would never have wanted to be anywhere else”

“I know! Their honeymoon can only be better than our road trip in the US, I reckon.”

“Well, that wouldn’t be hard. No Silicon Valley types in Bangkok. ” 

“No, thank goodness.” Simon shudders. “Still. Penny was a bit worried about magic. I’m sure there are plenty of English speakers in Bangkok but who knows once they head up north.”

A look passes over Simon’s face but he doesn’t say anything. 

I pull him closer, “It’s just you and me for the next month, love.”

“However will we cope?”
